A Majestic Town House
This beautiful period style town house is set in the historic town of Worcester. The scale of this house is stunning, and the proportions are perfect. You enter through the large front door, into a vast hall, with symmetrical reception rooms. The left-hand side rooms have been opened up creating a perfect space for entertaining. We were careful to be sympathetic to the age of the property, incorporating its charming original features with modern elements. The client wanted the rooms to feel unified and cosy.
We switched the dining area to the front of the room to house a 12-seat dining table. We used the smaller sofa with a console table behind to link the rooms yet creating clearly defined areas. A larger sofa to fit the space created a relaxing lounge around the open fire. We selected a dramatic dark wall colour from Zoffany paints and a similar colour for the velvet curtains by GP&J Baker allowing the wall and the curtains to be seamless. The curtains hang from a chunky metropole by Silent Gliss, one bent to fit the bay area and one straight, both with a contemporary wave style curtain heading.
The bespoke sofas feature beautiful chrome studding detail on the arms and have matching chrome cap feet. The sofa fabric is a dramatic burnt orange, piped in black velvet, giving a warmth and a pop of colour, the scatter cushions unified the room, all from Jane Churchill. The result is a dramatic, bold yet relaxing entertaining space.
"I really did not know where to start, but Sally at Interiors by Hannah has guided me through the whole process. From the moment we first spoke, I realised she had an in depth knowledge on soft furnishings, the products she uses and she employs a very professional team of seamstresses. Sally is very easy to speak to, she listens and works with you to produce the finished product which is beautiful and enhances your home. I am more than happy with what she has done so far and know that once finished, we have achieved what I started out to do. Thank you Sally for your time and patience, and I hope that we have become friends too."
